Baluch is a tribe from the regions of eastern Iran and the borders to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Baluch has a long history living as nomads, but today the majority have settled in villages.

Traditionally the rugs feature a great variety of designs with uniform colouring. Typical for these rugs are the broadside borders, often made from wool or goat hair (shirazi) the warp and weft is wool or cotton..

The primary designs used are geometric symbols or stylized flowers. Dark colour shades as red to blue-red or brown-red with contrasting dark blue/black/brown are dominating. Beige and camel are used more rarely. Prayer motivs and Güll motifs similar to turkmenistan designs are relative common.
